Shay is resting comfortably. Shay has been visited by a host of family and friends. Shay is not able to talk but we are busy talking his ear off. They have started Shay on a dialysis machine to help clean his blood from the toxins and infections in the blood. Hopefully this will speed up the process of getting rid of the infection. The Nurse just stated that he is very very stable. This is the best news we have heard today. Shay's condition tends to be minute by minute. A lot of ups and down but for the moment things are stable and his vitals look as good as they have today.
One thing is for certain this hospital and its ICU team is second to none (no big surprise since the University of Oklahoma is involved...can't imagine what kind of treatment he would be getting at the Univeristy of Mizzou Medical Center...if they even have one...just joking MU fans). In all seriousness the team that is working on Shay are top notch. They are by the bedside round the clock. Everyone can rest in knowing that he is getting the best care possible here at this hospital. They specialize in these types of cases.

Hey My name's Amber and I'm in Shay's 3rd hour english class. I don't really know him that well but i've been and will continue to pray for him. Tell Shay I say hi and that I miss saying hi really awkwardly in the hallways and in english class. Also tell him that I created an account just so I could write to him. Shay's an amazing person and hopefully i'll get to see him at school soon. God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteLove, Amber
Thats great news! Way to be strong Shayboy!
ReplyDeleteShay. i got a question for you. What are one of the Safety Equipment pieces in Mr. Foster's Biology room? UHHH...FIRE HYDRANT? (: i just thought of that and thought i would send a you a quick message! i can't remember all of the other funny stuff. but i'll try and get back to you on that. i'll talk to you later Shayboy! love you!
oh yeah! got one! remember that time we went to Incredible Pizza and i got those AWESOME glasses. and then i wore them around and everything and then we came home and you put them them on and put on the football helmet and it almost got stuck. Coach might have even laughed at that one! that was funny!
talk to you later Shay! (:
Here is another funny thing that happened last night. Ethan was laying on the rug in the living room. and he was like "Hey look at this i can look pregnant" and let me tell you he did! and then me and jessie both tried and we so couldn't even look close to as good as he did. You will HAVE to see it! it is really funny! Maybe Coach will show you his pregnant belly.... HA doubt it. but you could always ask to see it.
Let me start off by saying that 1.Coach will never show you his pregnant lady belly...if fact, he will deny he has one and 2.If you did see it, you might have to be in therapy for the rest of your life.
ReplyDeleteI am starting a campaign to get Shayboy changed to ShayMAN...not to be confused with shaman.
I miss you. Things are not the same around this house without you. Allie is picking on us a ton more since she doesn't have you to pick on.

Dear Lord,
You know Shay so much better than I do. You know Shay’s sickness and I ask you to be with Shay now. I believe you hear this prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise to help him FIGHT, I have faith in you to heal Shay. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort him with your presence. Let Shay know you are there with him through this difficulty.
Amen
Hey Shay. Glad to hear that things are going better today!!!! Let's keep rolling in that direction, man. We are keeping up with your blog in art class and everbody signed a card to send your way yesterday. Hopefully it will go through the right channels to get to you soon. Just know that we are all rootin' for you nonstop. You had better not be trying to get out of shading that super duper awesome design project I assigned! Don't sweat it...that bad boy is awaiting your return. We'll cheer you on through that thing too! We miss you lots every day and will definitely keep checking into your progress. Relax and take as long as you need to heal...the sooner the better. With love and warm fuzzy feelings, 6th hour Art class & Mrs. Pierson

Hey Shay! We are so glad to hear that you are fighting. Keep it up! I know that God is right by your side carrying you through the whole thing. By the way, Christin Hartman told me today that you had better hurry back to school because her, Jacy, and Katie feel like losers sitting at lunch by themselves.
