I got to talk to Shay this morning. His color looked really good and I am completely convinced he can hear us. I was able to remind him that he is now a Fair Grove Eagle and Eagles fight like champions! Shays blood pressure is a little high and the right ventricle is not working as well as they would like. He is being treated with three strong antibiotics to combat the infection. Other than that we have not learned a lot new. Vitals are still good.
As I spent some time with Shay I was reminded of a couple of things. First of all life is precious. Second of all time is the most precious commodity that you can give someone. This is not the time to point fingers but the fact of the matter is Shay is here because a doctor chose not to give his absolute time and attention to Shay and his mothers concern. I am also guilty of not giving someone my time. I remember Shay asked me on several occasions this summer to play X-Box with him. I found excuses not to do it. I can't tell you how much I want to play X-Box with Shay right now. I can tell you that when he gets out I am going to play X-Box with him until he grows tired of pounding me 50-0 or my fingers fall off.
My challenge to you today: Turn away from the computer, stop looking at your phone, put off work and invest your time in the people you are responsible for; Children, Parents, Students, Customers, Clients, Employees, or Supervisors. Give them your time.

Shay, Hurry up and get better. Allie is driving me crazy. She needs some entertainment around the house. I am not nearly as witty and quick at come-backs as you are. We are taping all the reality TV we can….we know how much you love it. Ha ha Seriously, Jason has a copy of all the Eagles football games and a special seat for you in the “basement.” We love you and miss your face. Mikelle

Mikelle, let Shay and his parents know that Nick and some of the other high school boys got together and prayed for Shay this morning. Nick want's Shay to know that he's waiting for him to get well and then they can "hang out". Tell him we love him and we need him to fight. Mandy

I do not know the young man, but they are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was unable to post a comment. Please let the Stallings know we are diligently praying. Our God is mighty to save and mighty to rescue and mighty to heal. We just realized last night that this is a cousin to one of Natalie's little friends , so she is tenderly praying as well.

I put him on the prayer list at church back home, and here. Is there ANYTHING that needs to be done here? Will be glad to do it.

Shay:
I have taught in the Fair Grove School system for many years, and have watched numerous students go from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I am sorry that I have not had the privilege to meet you or your family. I just want to say that I commend you on your Positive Attitude and on the Faith you place in God. I know God can work miracles. I had evidence of that when my father was seriously ill. I also know that many people in the Fair Grove School family and the community are praying for you and your entire family. May the Lord and his guardian angels continue to watch over you and aid you in a speedy recovery! "God Bless You!" A note to the family: Just know that prayers can work wonders--It was the many prayers, along with the dedicated doctors, who do God's work, that saved my father. Shay,
ReplyDeleteWe may not know you and your family personally, but as a son of Fairgrove you are part of our community family...We will pray for you, your family, the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff that you heal quickly and completely.
Our son was born deaf, and by many community prayers and the Grace of Gods miracle he hears. We have told many of your fight and they too are praying for you.
Stay strong, Melody Deeds
