We have been on such a run of good days we really did not see today coming. Shay ran into some issues today with an excessive heart rate and high blood pressure. Essentially one side of Shay's heart was working much faster than the other. They had to shock him this afternoon in order to get it to come down. They have now put him on some medicine to help control this. Shay's lungs continue to be a focus point. One side is bad and the other is really really bad. They were able to get some of the crud out of his lungs today. The nurse said the stuff that they pulled out of him was the worst that she had ever seen. We have certainly been pretty excitable over the last fews days but we were reminded today by the doctors that Shay is still a very sick kid.
Definately not the news I was looking forward to posting but at least Shay responded well to the shock treatment. Please continue to pray for the healing of Shay's lungs.

Keep it up Shay! Keep fighting and stay strong! You'll beat this soon enough, it just takes a long ways to get there! You would of been so proud of the Eagles last night! It was a great game. :) But still wasn't the same without you. Hang in there buddie, so many people are watching out for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and you're family!

We're all praying for you all and especially Shay, his lungs and heart. Bethany said a special prayer for Shay prior to dinner tonight. We've been praying for all of you morning, noon, and night. "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12 We will continue to hope and pray, I know that God is holding you all up in the palm of His hands. May the Lord continue to strengthen Shay and all of your family through this battle. Keep hoping, praying, and loving, God is good! We love you all, Love Nay

When times are tough,
ReplyDeleteand all is not well.
Pray to the Lord,
for he won't fail.
In the heavens so high,
angels will sing.
Don't ever forget
that the Lord will bring.
He will provide
in this time so tough.
He is always there
when things are rough.
He listens to every word,
and to every breath.
He is always there,
he never left.

ReplyDeleteDear Stallings Family,
ReplyDeleteI don't know you personally. I teach in the middle school at FG and know Chris through school. My husband is the technology director at FG. I have read the posts about Shay and heard about him through school activities. I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for your family and the doctors treating your precious son. We hope Shay will continue to make progress and one day be back at FG where he belongs. Praying for you daily, Sue O'Dell
Hi Shay and Stallings Family,
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the math teachers at FG and though I haven't had Shay in class yet (I hope to :)), I have been fighting along with him. Even while teaching a lesson, I'll think of Shay and say a quick prayer. Shay, you have so much strength and support behind you, that we Eagles will be with you throughout your entire journey. Trust in the care of your doctors and nurses, trust in the Lord, and trust in your Eagles!!
All of our strength and prayers,
Anne Hickman
